ABOUT ICOMES
The first meeting of the International Congress of Mechanical Engineering Societies (ICOMES) was held in May of 1987 to provide a forum on those (primarily international) issues important to technical societies, and also to encourage international cooperation among participating societies.  A society becomes a participating ICOMES society when it enters into an agreement of cooperation with ASME or IMECHE. ASME serves as ICOMES secretariat. ICOMES includes 67 engineering societies in 57 countries.
